Dangers of Stress

Stress is a constant part of most people's lives. And although it is quite common, it still needs to be addressed given its impact on an individual's health condition. When you experience stress, your body produces chemical changes in your brain that could also affect your health.

While some sources of stress are temporal, there are those that are produced over a long period of time so that it builds up. Before you know it, it becomes so serious that it affects your health in various levels. Even if you do not have any existing health condition, it can actually enhance your risk of developing them.

You can exhibit the following symptoms of stress, which eventually contributes to the health problems associated with stress:

•    sleeping troubles
•    lack of energy
•    tension
•    headaches
•    depression
•    anxiety
•    high blood pressure
•    pain in the back or neck
•    weight loss or gain, etc

Stress Related Illnesses and Conditions

Continued research is being done to show more of the impact that stress has on one's overall health. But despite of this, there has been several scientific claims linking stress to several health conditions from backaches, to insomnia, and chronic fatigue syndrome.

When a person experiences stress, it produces chemical changes in the body that consequently alters some biological processes. For instance, some women who had to deal with stress in their lives suffer abnormalities in their menstrual cycle. Others miss their menstruation, while some suffer from abnormal bleeding. Aside from that, stress could also result to hormonal imbalances that cause symptoms for fibroid tumors and endometriosis to exhibit.

Heart disease is another common illness associated with stress. It intervenes with your cardiovascular condition such that people with stress can suffer from conditions like heart attacks, heart palpitations, high blood pressure, and stroke. Other common illnesses suffered by highly stressed individuals include fatigue, emotional disorders, headaches, ulcers, IBS, infections, colds, and lowered immunity system responses.

Taking Care of Your Body

Having known the impact that stress has on one's body, it is then important to take all the necessary steps to not only combat stress but also keep yourself free from any type of illness. Some people are too consumed with stress that they fail to pay attention to their body. Be more sensitive to your body and health needs.

The following are helpful tips on how you can handle stress and improve your health:

•    Take time off work to relax. Give your body a chance to recuperate.
•    Get enough amount of sleep, especially if you are going to work excessively during the day.
•    Eat well. Include enough amount of fruits and vegetables in your diet, as well as proteins.
•    Engage in a physical activity during your free time. Working out releases endorphins in your system, which is why it improves your mood.
•    Never resort to unhealthy methods of dealing with stress, such as drugs, smoking, or alcohol.

Seeking Professional Help

When stress begins to concern your health, it is important to seek professional guidance on the matter. The case is more important when stress has affected your health to a large extent. Indeed, there are professionals that can help you deal with the situation and overcome stress so your health can recover as well.

But a person can be too consumed with their stressful situation that they fail to recognize when help is necessary. The following are symptoms of too much stress and requires immediate professional attention:

•    sleeping problems due to anxiety
•    suicidal thoughts
•    loss of appetite often leading to weight loss
•    feeling of isolation or desire to be isolated from other people
•    high irritability

Availability Jill Stein helped Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton

Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate for president, thinks progressives should vote for her even if it means Donald Trump would defeat Hillary Clinton as a result.

“Sometimes you have to lose elections to build your power,” Stein told RI Future in a wide-ranging, 35-minute interview Wednesday. “Because we don’t get out of this hole unless we build our power. We don’t change this system unless we challenge it. In the words of Frederick Douglass ‘power concedes nothing without a demand.’ It never has, it never will. We’ve been doing this lesser evil thing for quite a while right now and this politics of fear has brought us everything we are afraid of. All those things we didn’t want we’ve gotten by the droves because the lesser evil essentially silences us.”

But what about all the Supreme Court justices Trump would appoint, I asked her.

“As opposed to having Hillary Clinton in power starting an air war with Russia over Syria because she wants a no-fly zone,” Stein responded. “She’s all about challenging Russia and provoking Russia and surrounding Russia with nuclear weapons and missiles and troops. Do we really want an aggressive war hawk in the White House who has a proven track record of actually doing the things that Donald Trump says?”

Clinton and Trump are “different,” she conceded, “but not different enough to save your life, your job or the planet.” She asked if America would be better served by “an advocate for billionaires in the White House instead of a billionaire himself?”

Fair enough. But Trump’s alleged wealth doesn’t even register on the list of things that would make him a terrible president. What about the hate and distrust his presidency would breed into America, I said.

“And think about where that came from,” Stein retorted. “Why does Donald Trump have support now? Because working people have been subjected to a miserable economy. And where did that miserable economy come from? Well, we had NAFTA, who gave us that? This was a policy of the Clintons, supported by Hillary. We had the Wall Street meltdown, which disappeared 9 million jobs and stole 5 million homes.”

Stein added, “I would feel horrible if Trump gets elected and I would feel horrible if Hillary gets elected but I feel most horrible about a political system that says we have two lethal choices, now pick your weapon of self destruction.”

Instant run-off voting, which allows voters to rank candidates, would allow people to vote for their preferred candidate without risk of aiding a political enemy, she said. But she was also clear to point out, there’s no reason to think she can’t win.

“In my view we don’t even have to lose this election,” she said, noting that there are 42 million people who are “trapped in predatory student loan debt. I’m the only candidate who will cancel that debt like we did for the crooks on Wall Street.”

Stein said Cornell West, Michelle Alexander and Seattle City Councilor Kshama Sawant are potential vice presidential candidates. She said Bernie Sanders could have “just about any” position in her administration.

Carl Frampton became a world champion in their WBA featherweight title bout in New York.

Carl Frampton became a two-weight world champion with a majority decision victory over Leo Santa Cruz in their WBA featherweight title bout in New York.

Former super-bamtamweight champion Frampton, fighting for the first time at 122lbs, gave an assured, composed performance to stun his unbeaten Mexican opponent and score a 23rd professional success.

"It's a dream come true," Frampton said. "I had the dream of winning a world title and I won it. It was a tough fight. I wanted it to be a tough fight because I wanted a fight the people could remember."

Judge Guido Cavalleri scored the contest 114-114 but Frank Lombardi (116-112) and Tom Schreck (117-111) ruled in favour of the Northern Irishman, giving him the belt his manager Barry McGuigan won in 1985.

Frampton was well drilled from the start, producing the sharper punches to lead on all three judges' cards by the end of the third round. However, Santa Cruz - who won the title in August last year and was making his second defence on Saturday night at the Barclays Centre - settled down and had a productive sixth round.

Frampton, roared on by the majority of the supporters inside the Brooklyn venue, did absorb some punishment against a man well known for his intense work-rate.

Yet the Belfast fighter continued to look assured until the closing stages of the fight, when he was particularly tested by a right hand over the top from Santa Cruz in the penultimate round.

Both men seemed to tire in an even final round - but the verdict went to Frampton, giving him a title McGuigan won more than 31 years previously at Loftus Road when he defeated Eusebio Pedroza.

"I had a good game plan, Frampton said. "I won it with my heart, not with my head and I got my hand raised. I won the fight because I didn't lose control. I earned his respect early in the fight with my distance control and hard punching."

Almost immediately after the fight both Frampton and Santa Cruz spoke about rematch.

"We'll go back to the gym, we'll get the rematch and we'll win," Santa Cruz said. "And that loss will mean nothing. I want to have a rematch in Los Angeles, but I'll go to Belfast, too."

In order to land the fight with Santa Cruz, Frampton forfeited his IBF super bantamweight title in April.

Firefox for iOS gets a big update with the help of an intern

Firefox for iOS launched late last year, and now it’s getting a big update with some awesome new features. Version 5.0 of the mobile browser offers better battery life, faster load times, easier navigation and more.

Those first two improvements are both attributed to Tyler Lacroix, a summer intern who developed a new version of Firefox for iOS. The software, which began as a pet project, apparently reduces CPU usage by 40 percent and memory usage by 30 percent. That means websites should load faster while using less battery, though the exact results may vary depending on your device.

Firefox is also rolling out a smart new search/address bar which lets you scan any website as long as it has an internal search function. That could include popular sites like Craiglist, eBay and Wikipedia, along with your favorite news publication. To use this feature, just go to a specific site, tap the search bar and then tap the magnifying glass icon to add it to your list of Firefox search engines.

The updated iOS browser introduces new menu for easy navigation. With a few quick taps you can add a bookmark, search for text on a page or open a new tab. You can also set a Home page and then jump to it from the menu. Finally, Firefox is rolling out a better tabs experience on mobile. If you close a tab by accident you can hit the new “Undo” button and get it back. It’s a small improvement, but it should come in handy.

This sounds like a pretty sweet upgrade. If you already use Firefox for iOS, the app should update automatically. If you’re interested in trying it out for the first time, you can grab the app via the App Store link below.

Donald J. Trump's Reddit AMA wasn't like any other.

Republican Party nominee for president of the U.S., Donald J. Trump, made good on his promise and held a Reddit AMA (ask me anything) session late Wednesday.

And while many thought this would be a disaster, Trump and his supporters on Reddit managed to turn the normally open concept of the AMA interview into a very on-message experience.

Trump played this one smart. Instead of doing the AMA — basically an open-ended interview, where the Reddit community asks the questions — on Reddit's IAmA subreddit, he did it on the pro-Trump subreddit The_Donald. There, the subreddit's moderators could filter any unwanted questions, which is exactly what they did.

The result was a fairly boring and short AMA session, with a total of 13 answered questions. Many of these were non-answers — to a question about NASA, Trump said, "Honestly I think NASA is wonderful! America has always led the world in space exploration."

And many of the questions were heavily biased in Trump's favor to begin with. When you get questions like, "We firmly believe Hillary will try and steal this election through vote fraud (...) What is your campaign doing to ensure that we have a fair election?" or "Are you getting tired of winning," the answers just flow.

The few answers that weren't just phrases were pretty basic outlines of various aspects of Trump's proposed reforms. On a question about immigration, Trump essentially linked to the "immigration reform" portion of his website. To a question about Obamacare, the answer was a few pointers from Trump's proposed healthcare reform.

Trump also listed his favorite U.S. presidents (George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan, if you're wondering), endorsed "new media," as a "great way to get out the truth," and used the rest of the answers to highlight the shortcomings of Clinton and her campaign.

Given the number of high-profile blunders during Reddit AMA sessions, it was probably prudent of Trump and his camp to keep this one tightly controlled. What makes Reddit AMAs interesting, however, is the unpredictability of the questions. Often, you'll see celebrities, politicians and other high-profile figures being asked very detailed, extremely well-informed or surprising questions, the likes of which you'll never see on, say, a live TV interview. If you remove that unpredictability from the equation, the result is just boring.

Trump Responds To Slain Soldier's Father, Who Appeals To GOP Leaders

In one of the most powerful moments at the Democratic National Convention, a Muslim father of a fallen U.S. soldier took the stage with his wife beside him and spoke directly to Donald Trump.

That father, Khizr Khan, condemned the Republican presidential nominee for proposing a ban on Muslims entering the United States.

"Let me ask you, have you even read the United States Constitution? I will gladly lend you my copy," he asked Trump, pulling a copy of the document out of his suit coat. "Look for the words 'liberty' and 'equal protection of law.'"

Khan's son, Humayun Khan, was an Army captain. In 2004, the 27-year-old was killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq after having warned his fellow soldiers to stand back. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart posthumously.

Khan told Trump that Arlington cemetery is filled with soldiers of "all faiths, genders and ethnicities."

"You have sacrificed nothing and no one," Khan said.

Trump has now responded.

In an interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd Friday night, Trump didn't zero in on Khan's accusations but rather on his wife, Ghazala Khan, who stood beside her husband silently. His response to Dowd was brief.

"I'd like to hear his wife say something," Trump said.

In an interview on MSNBC the previous night, Ghazala Khan explained why she chose to remain silent on stage.

"I cannot see my son's picture. I cannot even come in the room where his pictures are," she said. "That's why when I saw the picture on my back, I couldn't take it and I controlled myself at that time. So, it is very hard."

Her husband added that she served as his "coach" while writing the speech and said she gave him the strength to speak on stage.

"Forty years of marriage has brought us in a position where we are strength for one another," Khan said. "Her being there was the strength so I could hold my composure. I am much weaker than she is in such matters."

In that Saturday  interview, Trump was also asked to respond to Khizr Khan's assertion that Trump has sacrificed nothing. The GOP nominee first asked if Clinton's speech writers scripted Khan's remarks (Khan has claimed to have rejected such help), then said, "I think I've made a lot of sacrifices. I work very, very hard. I've created thousands and thousands of jobs."

He added that he, along with others, was "very responsible" for getting the New York City Vietnam Veterans Memorial built. According to the Washington Post, Trump attended only a few of the 20 planning meetings for the memorial.

Trump's views on Muslims also remain unchanged. When asked how he would respond to Khan in general, he said:

"We've had a lot of problems with radical Islamic terrorism, that's what I'd say."
